During the second half of the first day at Barcelona, after enjoying Sagrada Familia and tapas for lunch, I loaded the second roll of film for the trip, a roll of Fujifilm Superia 400.

The walk took place during the opening game of IPL 2024 – why do I remember this? I was worrying about the live streaming of the game all the time because that’s what I had spent majority of March making sure this a success at work… The important bit is that, I lost a lot of my memory of the afternoon because I was checking on my phone a lot.
The second day started with us walking towards Casa Batllo for a tour inside!

It was amazing to see how the building was designed to be a fully function residential building, while being so thoroughly designed as art piece.
The building was themed as underwater world. The skylight courtyard combined the color transition of sea water and light distribution functionality ingeniously – darker blue at the top, lighter towards the bottom floors, so that each floor gets illuminated by the nature light evenly.
Detailed design in the building is almost everywhere, from patterns on the wall reminding you of sea turtle, to sea shell looking window and columns. On the top floor, where servants lived (interesting cultural difference at the time), we saw the signature catenary arches. What a brilliant idea!

After Casa Batllo and a brief walk, we went on to the second Gaudi building tour of the day, Casa Mila. Honestly, it was comparably less impressive than the previous two buildings, but only comparably.
