Probable Last Roll Of 135 Fujicolor Pro 400H

After a dreadful 2021 with lots of work stuff and covid stuff, 2022 finally came. I realized I did not have any “Photo of the Month” posts the entire year, so I made a new year resolution to continue my “Photo of the Month” effort. Though, this post is more about remembering my possibly last roll of Fujicolor Pro 400H, as it’s so hard to find nowadays.

This roll was taken through the year of 2021 with my Leica M6, which gave me the first malfunction since I got it in 2018 – there were about 10 frames overlapped due to film advance problems. Anyway, here are the savages.

These Boston shots were actually from early 2021. Boston’s brick building are really popping from this roll of film. Aside from the color rendering of film, I really enjoy the “3D” feeling that the Leica lens brings. The images are not really “sharp” to cut all the edges of the subject from the blurry background, but somehow, the subject separates magically.

I am super impressed by the way the film rendered the bright blue sky. I haven’t seen such natural blue color from any of my digital cameras despite heavy post processing. I wish the subject was a bit more to the left on the first picture, so that the dark hall way creates a natural frame and provides the negative space.

Not too impressed with the two picture here, but meh.

I should’ve moved to the left a bit to make a perfect symmetrical composition, but I feared waking up the cats. I love the chairs making a triangle in the foreground and creators making the primary triangle in this composition.

This roll is actually processed by Negative Lab Pro. I had been hesitating about it given the $99 price tag, but it’s totally worth it – it gives really decent result in 99% of the case, unless the negative is really under exposed. With the convenience of this plugin, I could get more picture done in shorter amount of time, so that I’ll have more time to final touch on those 1% snow flakes.
